When Radcliffe Town run out for their first home game of the season at King George V playing fields, Outwood Road, Radcliffe, it’s with a new name, new strip and new sponsors.

Bolton accountancy firm, Stafford & Co, are the new sponsors of the Redrow Lancashire Premier division team, who have been known as Radcliffe Amateurs since 1935. Principal Ken Stafford is delighted with the move. “We’ve just celebrated our first anniversary as Stafford & Co, and we wanted to make it a memorable occasion. We’re really looking forward to being part of a club with such a long-established and illustrious
history.”

Dave Wilkinson, Manager of Radcliffe Town, says the club have already set their goals for the season: “We have our sights firmly set on winning the division this time round,” he says. “We’ve an influx of new, talented players, and having achieved fourth place in each of the two years since we were promoted to the Premier Division, we feel the top spot is well within our reach. By changing our name to Radcliffe Town we are
reflecting this ambition and bringing the club up to date without losing any of the history and experience that has made the club what it is today.”

Radcliffe Town kick off against Old Boltonians at 2.30pm on Saturday, 21st August at the King George V playing fields, Outwood Road.
